Under the Sea Glitter Mahjong Tiles — Ocean Blue

Sold out for now: expected back in stock in late November. Join our email list to hear when it returns.

An ocean-inspired set for every season. 160 American mahjong tiles in clear acrylic with sparkling blue glitter backs and illustrated sea artwork: starfish dots, seahorse bams, craks with Chinese numerals, tropical-fish flowers, mermaid winds and sea-god jokers. Supplied in a gift box.

Tiles only. Card not included. Racks, pushers, dice, a table mat and the annual scoring card are not included. American mahjong players buy the current year's card from its publisher each spring. A tile guide card is included to help you identify every tile.

How the tiles are made

Engraved, then UV printed. Every tile face is engraved first, and the full-color artwork is then UV printed on top. The back of each tile is clear acrylic with blue glitter that sparkles when you tilt it.

What's included

• 160 acrylic tiles
• 10 jokers in two designs (5 of each)
• 6 blank tiles: keep them as spares in case a tile ever goes missing, or use them for house rules that call for blanks
• Tile guide card that shows every tile in the set
• Gift box

Every tile at a glance

• Dots 1–9: starfish, plus 4 Soap (white) dragons
• Bams 1–9: seahorses, plus 4 green dragons (a lobster marked BAM). The 1 Bam is a seahorse, not a bird.
• Craks 1–9: classic Chinese numerals (一 to 九) with 萬, plus 4 red dragons (a crab marked CRAK)
• Winds: mermaids, 4 each of East, South, West and North
• Flowers (8): tropical fish. In American mahjong every flower counts as a flower, so you never need to tell them apart.
• Jokers (10): two designs, 5 of each
• Blanks (6): plain white tiles

The tile guide card in the box shows all of this at your first game. If your group is used to classic faces, expect a game or two to get used to the ocean artwork.
